What’s stopping you from growing to 7-figures as a studio/gym owner?
Is it any (or all) of the following?
- You struggle to consistently drive in high-quality leads capable of converting to premium-paying clients.
- Your business’s growth is limited by the number of hours you can work because you struggle to build a strong team who can support you.
- You lack the systems and processes needed to keep your studio/gym profitable and your team aligned to your values and business strategy.
If these sound like you, you’re not alone: Studio/gym owners are rarely trained on how to open, operate, and scale a business. That’s why we created the 7-figure Studio/Gym Roadmap™.
This roadmap will show you how to grow from less than $10k/month to $100K+ a month. Here’s what you need to know:
Stage 1: Be Profitable from Opening Day
Don’t open broke. (Don’t laugh–it happens too often.)
When you transition from fit pro to studio/gym owner, you need your business from the foundation up – so you are making money (e.g., cash flow positive) right from the start.
The key to success is the right systems. Miguel Sandoval of Own It Fitness, Fremont, CA, USA, came to us when he wanted to open his first gym. We helped him get clear on his perfect client avatar, value proposition, and service delivery/client experience. He also installed NPE sales and marketing systems in his new business. Over a 2-year period, he grew from zero to $20,000 a month.
Stage 2: Get a Team You Can Count On
No help = overwhelm. There’s little worse than feeling no one has your back.
Donna Schallenberg, To the Core Pilates, Lloydminster, AB, Canada, couldn’t enjoy her business. She was working all the time. She clarified her core values and hired her team based on alignment to those values. The result was three strong hires that relieved the pressure and allowed her business to grow again.
Stage 3: Create Leaders You Can Count On
At a certain point, you’re going to grow past your ability to manage every team member. You will need internal leaders to manage others and grow the business.
Joseph Hsiung (known as “Joe Fight”) of Fight Fitness in Toronto, ON, Canada, was stuck because he was managing everyone in his business. He used our Team Builder Tools to identify leaders, train and empower them. The leadership systems allowed his studio/gym to grow past this stage.
Stage 4: Scale to Multiple Locations and Beyond
You may have tapped out your location’s potential and wish to go further. Continue to grow by adding locations and new revenue streams, plus licensing, franchising, and premium services.
Karry Summers of Altitude Pole and Fitness of Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand, expanded her business by opening her own locations and franchising others. Altitude now has five total locations.
Stage 5: Exit
As you grow to 7-figures, you’ll be establishing strong systems that make your business a valuable asset.
Raphael Freedman & Lachlan Rowston of Creature Fitness, Sydney, Australia, decided to switch directions. They sold their 3-location business and used the money to start a different gym. They opened Lockeroom, a single-location, 7-figure business that offers premium services to executives.
